House Fennec!

Hi fennec-players! Partly to do with the fennecs going for nobility and partly just because it seems like something they'd do someday anyway, we're looking at possible 'house names' to unite the fennecia families under.

Our 'maybe' list for a family/house name so far is;

(We also talked about having Lapis preceed these names, so it translates to Jeweled gold _____s, most of the following names are in either english or a different language to mean gold-something.)

Aurumcauda
Croix'dor
Goldmane
Goldtail
Goldpaw


Any other suggestions are welcome! Post them or IM here, and if they sound good they can be added to the 'maybes'. This can be an IC discussion too, since while the fennec families haven't been made nobles yet, Brenner did tell them he was going to look into it, so they might very well unite their family in anticipation.

Just a note on Ani's post, because we have been discussing the matter among ourselves before putting it here:

This new name should ideally be truly a 'new' thing. Lismorean in origin would be ideal, since names like that usually were taken relative to the location/place or profession or something of the general area where they are from. So we should avoid "names from where the Natines would come" or "names from Sarah's ancestry", for example. It should be new, and as neutral as possible to the heritage, because they're establishing themselves as a fennec family of Lismore.

That said, some names do sound better in other languages so we got some Latin and some French going, and if you have a better suggestion that sounds good in some other language, suggest it! Just keep in mind the origin should be relative to these fennecs on the here and now., not to their ancestry.

I personally would prefer to keep their family names and have a unifying house name added to it at the end. Like Sarah Nejem of House X. Because I d like to keep their family names intact, since I do like them a lot, and Nejem, Natine and Rousseau are really nice family names I think

Some general suggestions for a house name would be anything that contains Sky-, or High-, indicating Lismore origin.

I don't think there would be any problem with keeping an existing name they have, and tacking the new house name to it.

So Sarah could totally remain Sara Nejem <whatever-name-we-pick>.

It seems Aurumcauda is the winner, with Croix'dor a closeish second!
I personally say we adopt them both, but it seems we will be the Aurumcauda -- Goldentails -- from now on.
