Rumors that the fennecs of Kun Qalasi plan to open portals directly to the source of coffee and cacao and undercut the current merchants who have to travel significant distances across the world for those items has caused prices to go up significantly on these already expensive commodities.
There is currently no solution to the price increase, though it is assumed that if the Qalasians in fact are able to acquire those commodities faster and cheaper, their prices would drop significantly lower than what it was even before these rumors started. For the time being, coffee and chocolate in Lismore have gone up in price, much to the discontent of those hopelessly addicted to it.
