Transcript of Royal Victory Speech
« on: June 28, 2018, 01:48:07 am »
<The following is a transcript of the speeches made to celebrate victory over the First Kingdom.>

Ascari: People of Lismore, hearken to me! Our war with the First Kingdom, a long and arduous war, one which has been at great cost to everyone involved, has finally come to an end. A short while ago, a decisive strike was launched against their capitol and palace, wherein our brave warriors faced the might of their 'god' and vanquished it from this place and the next. It is over. We are truly victorious! The First Kingdom is no more!

Daliyah: While there was much hardship and sorrow, the people of Lismore and in all our allied realms joined their strength to create a song of defiance against the hatred of the First Kingdom that in the end overcame that miserable lament and put to rest that which had forgotten peace. And so we are at the end of an era now, and a new one of long lasting peace may begin.

Ascari: And let this victory be a statement to all who wish to challenge Lismore and Her allies, that we shall not be broken! That any force wishing to bring harm to us and our way of life face the unyielding might of our combined empires!

Yet though the day is won, our work is not over. I know, my friends. I know the toll this has taken. Friends and family, wounded and killed for the cause. Grief and agony, fear, fatigue... Now is at long last the time to mourn the fallen and honour their memory. Now is the time to rest and make peace with the past, and our future. We face a long road ahead of us, and it will be fraught with obstacles that get in our way. That will need to be overcome.

Daliyah: There might be challenges to overcome, but as before, we always faced them together. This is Lismore's greatest strength. Always has been. The diversity. The tolerance of all beings no matter their heritage. A willingness to do the impossible, like bringing heaven and hell together in peace and love. And this strength has proven to be able to overcome any obstacles. Be proud, Lismoreans, and dear friends and allies. Together we created this moment, made it possible.

Ascari: If there is anything this war has taught me, it is this: I believe in Lismore. And I believe in you. What has been made ruins, we shall rebuild. What has been taken, we will reclaim. Those who suffer, they will be helped. Perhaps now we are weakened. But for all we have been through, we will emerge from this tragedy stronger and more united than we have ever been.

A core tenet of our people has always been to promote peace and acceptance. I realize now that these principles shall be pushed to their limits. My people, my friends, the lands and the people of the First Kingdom are now a part of our family. Of our hearth, and home! We will help them recover from the war, which has ravaged them as much as it has ravaged us.
They will come to our empire. Walk among you in our city. Peruse of our culture and economy, of our services and resources. I know this is frightening. But I ask that you show understanding for these people, for they are like us: victims of a pointless conflict, same as us. One which they would have no part in.

Daliyah: And it might be easier than you think to accept them like our own! For some of them have already walked among you and settled down here, created families and became Lismoreans! There are refugees of the First Kingdom here, people fleeing from the oppression at home. Now they can stand at our side when we come to the First Kingdom and its survivors and offer help and a willingness to help them rebuild!

Ascari: So I ask you, not as a prince but as a veteran of this war -- as one who fought for this empire same as the rest and seen the faces of our enemies, open your hearts to these poor souls. Let them into Lismore, help them feel welcome. Show them that we are better than they were made to believe. That we are better than their late tyrant.

And together, we shall become more powerful than we could ever imagine. Together, we will build a better future, for ourselves and all the generations to come!
The flames of war have at last been extinguished. May they never be lit again under our watch.
Long live Lismore! Long live the Alliance!

Daliyah: We are the ones who forge our own future, our own path. War is over, and if you will it, there will be no other again. Because peace and compassion shall rule from now on, and they all start and exist here...

<Queen Brielle Cortez of the Crimson Empire's Speech>

The past years have seen our three empires.. Lismore, the Crimson Empire and the Steel Isles grow so very close.
I still remember the old days when I traded barbs with Prince Thanatos at the tavern and embarrassed poor Aisling to no end.. But Lismore served as an engine of peace between our peoples, and our alliance was tempered in this war, in a common goal of defence and the pursuit of peace... We've all made good friends amongst our ranks, and those bonds between friends and empires are bonds that cannot be broken.

My parents were taken from me early in the war, and it was a struggle to grow into this crown in the shadow of war. But the unity of our alliance was an endless source of strength. I'm still working on speeches, so I'll keep my own short and to the point.
May the coming years and all their joys and challenges bring us closer and closer. Long live the alliance.

<General Aisling of the Crimson Empire's Addendum>

We would not have been here today if not for our allies and them mediating between our two warring kingdoms. They helped us create a bond and strength that surpassed everything we ever had managed on our own. For that we will always be grateful and honor you. For Blood and Honor! For the Alliance!

<King Balmung Stonefall of the Steel Isles' Speech>

Ascari and Brielle have made important points on the strength of our unity, the events of the recent past, and the task we have ahead of us in the future. I'd like to take a moment to address the matter of our warriors.

Our soldiers, our healers, their family, and those who forged and mended the gear they took into battle... The kingdoms of the allianced proved themselves valorous beyond measure. We faced a foe of terrible size and strength, outnumbering us and outsizing our combined territories. Our soldiers faced nightmarish hordes of undead and orc, and terrible beings of great power and cunning, and our healers and families had to help heal the physical and mental wounds that those encounters left...

And yet, here we stand. Victorious, and showing all creation that we still have our hearts and spirits in this festival.
I think I can declare without fear of contradiction that our kingdoms possess the bravest souls and the most valorous soldiers in all these broad Skylands. I thank everyone for what they have done to help us see this peace... Long live the alliance.

<Queen Kami of the Desert Renegades' Speech>

Hey everyone.. Great job keeping the party nice and spicy so far... I wanted to close up the speeches with one more important point.. A call to action.
We have laid a great evil low, of that there is no doubt. We should be proud of our victory, and we should enjoy our peace. But.. The Skylands is still a place dotted with evil, oppressive influences. There are still evil beings and monsters of both creaturesque and sentient natures.
We have built a strong alliance full of powerful warriors. I ask that those who are able keep their blades and wits sharp, and keep the good fight going strong. If you feel yourselves ready, speak to me, my fellow monarchs and other important leaders in and allied with the Empire what your muscle can do to promote peace and protect those who need to be protected.
Long live the alliance!
