<The following is a verbatim transcript of a speech written by Prince Ascari Fu Sheng, addressing the First Kingdom attack on New Eden, day 339 year 22 of the 4th age.>
Citizens of Lismore!
Last night, our friends below have suffered a great tragedy. Our enemy, the First Kingdom, have once again shown themselves for the monsters that they are. New Eden, a haven for the weak and needy -- a sanctuary for those that have suffered through many terrible wars, has fallen.
In a cowardly blow towards those that could not defend themselves, the First Kingdom has uprooted and ended many innocent lives. This is not just an attack on New Eden. This is an attack on each and every one of us. They seek to sow chaos and terror in their wake, to divide and conquer our empire -- our people, and We condemn what has been done. And We will not stand for it!
Efforts are ongoing, as we speak, to salvage what can be rescued from New Eden, and from the ashes shall it rise again! Bigger, better and stronger than ever before! And now I stand before you, the people of Lismore, not as your prince but as a man -- an equal, and I vow that I will not be broken by this senseless act of cowardice. I ask you, my equals, to join me in the same. To stand with me in defiance of the First Kingdom, to show them that we are stronger than they are. That we cannot be killed, and that every blow struck at us shall be repaid tenfold!
We shall not go quietly into the night; we shall kick and we shall scream and we shall fight with the fury of one thousand suns! We are not afraid of the First Kingdom, and that will never change.
Many a time we have had our differences with an enemy, but Lismore still lives. We persist! Why do we persist? Because our enemies fail to understand one thing: We are NOT divided! We do not scatter like rats flee from a fire. We do not shatter like glass against a wall. No, we ARE the fire! We ARE the wall! Our enemies shall flee from us! They shall break their bodies upon our walls, and they WILL! BE! DEFEATED!
So take heart, people of Lismore! Band together and join me in my statement to the First Kingdom: We are Lismore, and we do not break! We do not yield! We do not lose!
