The Natines are a group of Carthaginian fennecs who originally came to live in Lismore not entirely of their own will.
Solrin Natine arrived at Lismore fleeing from pirates and slavers. There he found his brother Ahmaro Natine, who had been captured by slavers years earlier, and was now in the possession of Empress Ewyllyn Fu Sheng.
After hearing of their plight the Empress graciously agreed to release Ahmaro from the bonds of slavery, and he and his brother Solrin settled in Lismore permanently.
