What is your Throne?
« on: September 29, 2013, 01:13:23 pm »
So a few days back I saw a movie, The Thirteenth Warrior. While watching this movie, at the last battle scene, one of the warriors who is at the brink of death and kills the Big Bad Guy, drops to a seat on some piece of wood that was once a make-shift barricade with his sword at his side. The attackers retreat, and the warrior dies there in his seat.

When watching this I realized that the seat and posture looked kind of like sitting on a throne, and it brought a deeper message in the fight. The warrior died where he should have, in a grand battle, and for a moment he was the King on the field. And this made me start thinking, and to make this post...

If your characters had personal thrones, what would they be like? Their design, decorations, locations, all of these factors embodying the personality, actions and purpose of the character. It brings about an interesting way of imagining one's own, and other people's, characters by trying to fit everything that they are into a single image, a throne room.

So go ahead folks, if you want to. Imagine your characters in their personal, custom created kingdoms and the seat they rule them from, and share it.
Too many characters to list.

Hyper weapon.

Hmm interesting thing to come up with

I suppose Relina's throne would be made of tass crystals with two lances that cross each other yet it would be emroidered with something that resembled caring and a big heart.

Kain's throne would probably be made from materials inside a cave where he spent a good bit of his childhood, yet it would be of Japanese style and decor.

Alvin's throne.... would probably be a very comfy sofa with fluffy pillows

Bellatrix's throne would be very technologically advanced within the limits of Lismore's time and feature a pair of lightning rods at the head of the throne.

Interesting idea, I'll give it a go:

Athian's throne would be a large, massive and sturdy piece of furniture, the main structure made out of wood that has a distinct red tint in its texture. There would be armrests for his massive paws that merge into decorative figures of wolves for decoration at their ends. These ornamentations being made of silver or a silvery looking alloy. The same alloy was cast into markings that went all over the polished wooden surface to the sides of the throne, depicting  the coat of arms of his family and the domain they rule. The soft furs of wild animals would pad out the sating, adding the earthen tones of brown, grey and white to the red-tinted brown of the wood and the silver of all those ornaments.

He would install the throne on a slightly raised area of a room, that he would pad with more furs to have a room for a selected number of people to comfortably settle down around his throne to the left and right.
The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

I'll just list my fav four characters thrones. :3

Zerahs throne would be that of well treated wood, laced up with the many trip wires she weaves and decorated with dud bombs, trap components, and two glowing orbes. One of a multicolored such as an opel and one of a dark shaded ruby to each represent her mana charges and her anti-magic charges.

Muz' Ra's would be made of the earth, covered in soft and lush moss for cusioning, but with a fire burning behind it. Only to be surrounded by a small watery moat as the winds swirl around her to represent the bond she has with the elements as they have with her.

Jakes throne would be decorated in a sort of Harly Quin-ish decor. Monochromatic in color, but built of scrap parts that link to form an ever moving machine under him.

Pyce's throne would be made of broken weapons and armor, formed together through sheer force and power represented by the many dents and cracks the materials have. A bit of dust as well to represent his experience on the field and lust for an perfect battle.

Ciran's would be a perfectly mundane chair with a padded back rest. Or something made of Oak. Bahamut might encourage nobility, but he discourages greed and hoarding--an opposite approach to Tiamat's avarice.

But Stranger's....

Stranger would have had a living throne made of hot bitches (all genders including those in between) that writhed upon a  garishly ornate, golden, and circular mattress backed by millions of pillows. They wouldn't hold him at eye level, either, they'd be forced to pyramid him on high so he could look down at people. They'd work his junk and bath his body in the finest oils as he wore a similar robe made lavishly of either precious metals/minerals or some fine silk he viewed so disposable he'd get it replaced rather than cleaned. Suck it bitches. Awwww yeah.

Sheanna's would be a mix of living shrubberies, plants and trees formed elegantly into a soft comfortable chair. Her entire family's history would be carved into the bark.

Amelia's would be a Simple but elegant ebony thrown with gold trimmings. On the seat a carved picture of her mother and father would be there. On each arm would be a carving of one of the twins, Herself or Bella. Valentines valued family after. More or less.

Jae's would be elegant but stupidly simple. Around the base of the throne would be a circle of inscriptions. In Russian the inscriptions would translate to common as "Honor above cowardice, but intelligence over Stupidity. We give loyalty to the last, but not blindly so." The base would be made of a dark black stone, working it's way up with streaks of read metal in it that resemble veins creeping across the stone. The cushion in the seat would be a common seat that all could find anywhere. On the back rest would be a carving of two crossed katana's and a chain bracelet just above that. Below it would be the name "Ulrik" (Jae's last name) On left side of the crossed katana's would be the old phoenix emblem. On the right would be the old Cruentus emblem. Two sides of the same coin. Two parts to the same man.
