There exist many rumors about the shadowy district that was built at the bottom of the caves, deep below Lismore's splendor and towers of marble and gold. As much as those rumors tend to vary in what they claim to know about New Eden, a few things are commonly agreed upon, and everyone considering to come visit the seedy underbelly of Lismore, should know what they are getting into.
New Eden was built and is managed by a powerful merchant group from outside, called CTC, standing for Calassador Trading Company. Governor Kane is their representative in Lismore and overseeing their investment and project. They have brought in their own men and equipment and also recruit from the local populace to enforce their laws and customs within New Eden. That being said, there is not much regulation usually for any kind of business or endeavor people may want to pursue. This invites all sort of shady inventors, scientists and businessmen to come to New Eden to work relatively safely on whatever their feverish minds have come up with.
CTC tolerates, or even encourages those who are shunned, despised or even hunted, to live in the shadows New Eden provides. Many dangerous individuals roam the narrow streets and alleys of the cave town, and if there is trouble or fights breaking out, it never is certain if the Enforcers from CTC will interfere or just simply watch from afar.
So every traveler wanting to come to New Eden be warned that this is not a safe place to be at, because predators prowl the shadows out for prey or a new toy, and it is not always obvious who is a predator with ill intentions on their mind. To put it simply: New Eden is the place to have one of the best and most exciting parties, if you dont mind ending up dead. Or worse.
