The Valentines family was founded by Rowan Valentine, a non-demon fox who married Bahiti, one of the fenramau demons created by Oba-Musa.
Their offspring created a new race, the foxramaus demons.
The Valentines lived in harmony and alliance with the rulers of Lismore until Edhel and Xian Fangshi Valentine enacted a coup and usurped the throne, ruling for only short few years before they were deposed and the Fu Sheng rulers were reinstated in an episode that became known as the Valentine Incident.
After the Valentine Incident, most remaining members of the family changed their names, to distance themselves from their usurper relatives. Only Vheljen Valentine and Amon Valentine kept their family name intact.
