I would almost say Vheljen or Abbadon might be a more sensible choice from my end.. Mariah's not really a demonologist, her only experience with them is destroying the ones that mess with the temple.

Abbadon then.   :)

I'd be tempted to bring along Amon to try and justify/condemn the different parts of his family :3

Let me remind people that council meetings are not open court days.

Open court is when everybody is welcome to come in and participate.

Council meetings are where the nobles and special guests meet to discuss topics too juicy, irrelevant, or too complex to be publicly addressed right away.

So this is not a "bring whoever you want" event.
While we try to avoid these specific and mostly closed events, sometimes they are necessary for plots and scenes that concern the ruling class.

So here's the list of permanent council members:

  • Xahu - He's the ruler, after all!
  • Ewyllyn - She's Xahu's wife.
  • Emir - He's the Prime Minister, second-in-command.
  • Dru - She's captain of the guard and Xahu's mother.
  • Xian - He's kind of distanced himself from power, but he is Xahu's father and would be welcomed as an advisor.
  • Athian - He's one of the nobles of Lismore, and in charge of the food supplies.
  • Valencia - She's also one of the nobles, one of the leaders (of Cruentus) and she's an expert on the matter of demons.
  • Xela - She's one of the nobles, the leader of Phoenix.
  • Mariah - She's the high priestess (leader) of the Temple.
  • Relina - She's the leader of the Zenko.

And for this specific meeting, the following would be welcome due to their expertise on the matter:

  • Abbadon - He's an expert.
  • Radem - He would be an invited advisor due to his opinions on the matter and supposed divine connections.

Because some characters have the same player (Emir & Radem, Xian & Val, Mariah & Abbadon), pick whichever one you think would be best.

The foxramaus/fenramaus (Amon, Vheljen, Anthony, Bellatrix, Rowan, Rayenne, Kleopatra, etc...) are not invited because they would be sensitive to some of the discussions to take place. The necromancer Navaru wouldn't be invited because of his close connection to Cena. Yuna would not be invited because Xahu doesn't see it fit to invite her. Valric would not be invited because he's too young.

So we're going for Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 3pm SLT. Sounds good?

Currently looks good, if only I do survive another day of cleaning out the flat (Gaaaah! So much junk! Where did it all came from?). See you all at the council. :)
The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

This was a closed meeting, so this summary is just for the record for the players who were there and so players can know what's going on even on scenes their characters can't participate, for story sake. If your character wasn't there, your character has no way of knowing any of this unless told by one of the characters who were there.

The basic summary of this meeting:

  • Dru announced she's pregnant!
  • Valencia is doing renovations at Cruentus.
  • The library has been expanded to include a small museum where historical items will be exhibited.
  • Work on the greenhouse has begun.
  • Mariah announced some difficulties with the Temple. The Tree of Life has been growing weak, but she's handling the situation and says there's no reason for alarm just yet.
  • Abbadon's studies on The Book continue still.
  • The fate of the Vance family was extensively debated.
  • Radem, Mariah, Athian, and Emir were asked to commune with their deities and ask for the possibility of turning the Vances from demons into not-demons.
  • It was decided that the Vances will be given an ultimatum: They must not be accused or suspected of doing anything illicit or else the accused will be summarily executed - a zero-tolerance policy. The Vances may not emigrate out of Lismore. The Vances must stop their procreation and stay at their current numbers. If a way to make them not-demons anymore is found, they will be offered that option, and should they accept it, the zero-tolerance policy will not be enforced for those who choose to become mortal.
  • After the official meeting was adjourned, Xahu expressed interest in ways to make the Vances compliant that was compatible with their kind, short of enslaving them. Valencia was charged with looking into the matter.
