To Hide or not to Hide!

So recently our old griefer Jakkar Carlos made an appearance, and proceeded to mildly inconvenience us a bit because that's what griefers do. They are losers who seek joy in absolutely pointless harassing of others.

After a barrage of Abuse Reports, he suddenly disappeared, so I would like to think the Lindens might have finally banned him, though I don't trust the Lindens and have no faith in them doing anything, so I'll remain cautious on my assumptions.

Griefers are a problem for which there really isn't a permanent solution in SL, and I'm sure as soon as he figured a way back in, Jakkar will show his ugly face again eventually.

One relatively new feature LL offers is for us to hide who's in the sim from other parcels/regions. That doesn't affect the radar, it just makes it so if you are on an outside parcel, and cam into ours, you see nobody there, and you can't hear what's being said in the LocalChat either.

I would have simply turned on that option without any fuss, but Lismore is subdivided into two parcels: The main RP area, and the little floating platform that is the Entry Point (and no, for technical reasons, I can't join them).

So the question is: Can people live with not being able to see/hear others in the sim from within the OOC area (and not able to see/hear anyone from the main RP area who is in the OOC area)?

This doesn't affect IMs or groupchat, nor the radar or other tracking systems. If you cam into them, you just can't see them (and what they are doing).

Please vote!
I have left the option turned on, look around and see how you feel about it.
Got questions or comments? Let's hear them!

Lou

I voted but I'll just elaborate a bit - probably not worth the hassle, Ash. Griefing can mostly be stopped by just muting, derendering, yatta yatta, and it's a rare enough event to not warrant the risk of new people or regulars who might not have the radar out think that the sim is empty when it might be populated.
Too many characters to list.

Hyper weapon.
