Transcript from Ascari's coronation ceremony:
[13:38] Tenaar Feiri: I'm feeling a bit laggy btw, but hopefully it won't be a repeat of last time
[13:43] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng is pacing up and down in the throne room above, spending the time with her husband in anticipation. "This is it, Ascari... we're really doing it." To lighten the mood she d add then with a grin "Hey, next time we burn down the royal chambers we can call it a Mandate from Heaven. Benefits of being the ones in charge."
[13:44] Relina Harem was relaxing on the bench laid out, wearing exactly as Ascari recommended!
[13:44] Xahu Fu Sheng rolls his eyes to Daliyah, and he chuckles softly, "You'll probably find it less amusing when it's your house you're burning down.", and he looks to his son and Daliyah and asks with a little smile, "Are you two ready?"
[13:45] Sylvara Solace seems to be in attendance. Where has she even been lately, she's been rather scarcely seen in public as of late.
[13:46] Ascari chuckles a bit, and he nods at what Xahu says. "Probably. We'll be fine, Daliyah." he says to her, and then he addresses his father. "As ready as we'll ever be. So... Shall we?"
[13:46] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng smiles at Xahu, nodding then. "As ready as can be. I even changed my hair for this day. Think I ll keep it like this. Call it my Empress haircut." She d seek her mate's paw for a moment, squeezing it softly. "Let's do it."
[13:46] Ausar waves over to Ariel when she enters: "Looking good, my princess, very royal today!" He winks and then eyes the stairs to see if her parents would be following closely.
[13:48] Ariel flashes a little grin to Ausar, but she stays quiet there where she sits.
[13:51] Xahu Fu Sheng smiles to Ascari and Daliyah, and says softly to them, "Alright, let's go in. You two a couple of steps behind me. Come in and sit down, Ascari on the center, you Daliyah on the left... or right. Depends on where you're coming from! So the one where your daughter isn't sitting!", and he giggles softly to them, and checks on his robes one last time to make sure everything is proper, then heads for the stairs. Trumpets sound again to announce the emperor entrance into the room, and he makes it to the spot under the stairs before the chairs therein.
[13:53] Ascari takes Daliyah's paw, and he walks down after Xahu then, looking quite nervous! He's unable to contain that, as he sees just how many people are there attending, and he makes some haste in moving over to his chair to sit down. And he puts on a smile, even though he's quite terrified!
[13:54] Ausar can't help but give a wolf whistle upon seeing Deliyah dressed and prettied up for the even. He winks at her and quickly claps for both her and her husband as they take their seats.
[13:55] Sylvara Solace would probably be standing by her mom, if she was here... Darn naked doggo sexxing up demons and getting pregnant, and owning no clothes to fit her new body...
[13:56] Relina Harem stands up as soon as the trumpets sound, though her jaw drops when she saw Daliyah and Ascari their looks as well as this moment just stunned her
[13:56] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng grins a bit to Xahu "I am sure we ll figure that puzzle out somehow!" she comments about the seating arrangements. She d follow then, smiling softly to the ones gathered there. Most of them friends, which helped a bit with the overwhelming feeling as she and Ascari make their way to the chairs. Only when they arrive there and sit down would she let go of his paw. She d put on a determined expression despite being as anxious as her mate. Her daughters would get a warm smile as well. Meanwhile the various faction leads would pay their respect with a little bow or nod. Miri would stand guard and make sure everything went smoothly.
[13:57] Ariel smiles as her father and mother enter the room, and when they sit down she reaches for her father's paw to gently hold and give it a little squeeze of re-assurance, though her paw has a slight tremble to it even though she's doing her best to hide that she's pretty anxious too.
[13:59] Athian Hoggard rest sprawled out on the divan bed, curiously watching the ceremony unfold.
[14:00] Xahu Fu Sheng smiles to those present, and once everybody is settled in, he speaks up, in his official but friendly voice, "People of Lismore! Friends from abroad. Brothers and sisters of mine! I bid you all welcome to my kingdom, one last time!"
[14:04] Ascari looks at Ariel, and he smiles at her as she squeezes his hand. It will be alright! And as his father begins to speak, he straightens himself up to observe, keeping quiet while he's giving his speech.
[14:05] Ani Aunerfal is online.
[14:05] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng would fall silent as well, when Xahu speaks. Just now and then glancing over at her mate and their daughter, checking how they were holding up. While Xahu speaks, his sister Tiana would stand near him, a bit behind him as she had done for so many years. For her a farewell and last time too, for with her brother's reign ending, so would her duty to him as well, and she d leave Lismore.
[14:08] Relina Harem snaps out of it when she heard Xahu speak up and she simply gives a slight bow to Xahu first
[14:10] Sherri Kelsey would probably be in attendance if she owned any clothes to fit her new body, after Ausar gave her a bit of a demon magic lovetap.
[14:14] Xahu Fu Sheng glances to Ewy and to Tiana and smiles to them, and then back to the others in the room, carrying on with his speech, "It was several decades ago when I stood in these halls; Lismore is a young nation by many standards, but it was even younger back then, only a few years since it was uplifted from the ground in the Old World and brought into the Sky Lands... We had faced our first trials, and defeated our first enemies, and the battered people of Lismore - many of whom are still here today - crowned me their first emperor. That day I swore it would be my life's duty to defend Lismore and to uphold integrity and dignity and justice for our people, and that is the main duty of the emperor: To be just, to be fair, and to protect. Lismore is young and has been through quite a few shifts, we haven't got many traditions going back centuries like other countries do, but that is one tradition, one way of life I wish my son and daughter-in-law to uphold as the new rulers: To serve our great nation and see that its people are treated with fairness, and to see that it prospers!"
[14:20] Ewyllyn smiles back at Xahu, but she lets him speak, and meanwhile Ascari is looking a bit more comfortable now that it's actually started. There's no turning back, so he's making his peace with it. In fact, the soon-to-be emperor looks a little bit sheepish, not quite sure how he's supposed to respond to the words or appear. He's practiced this many times, but the real thing is obviously quite different!
[14:21] Relina Harem takes a seat to listen to Xahu, though she observes those present as everyone fills the hall (army of Anis incoming!)
[14:22] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng is keeping her determined look, and as the realization is setting in, that indeed there is no turning back now, she too becomes more calm inside. Smiling at Ascari and their daughters for a moment, a reassuring smile. We got this! She d wait then for the ceremony to go on. They d probably get a signal or something like that if they were supposed to address the crowd at some point.
[14:28] Xahu Fu Sheng continues, saying a bit more softly, but still loud enough to be heard, still in his official voice, "When I was a young prince, I dreaded the idea of my coronation day, not because of the duties that would lay ahead of me, not because of how my life would change, but because would be a reminder that my parents were no-more.", and he makes a slight pause, slightly changing topic, "We have been through many trials together, and through many joys, my people and I; our friends from aborad; former enemies turned allies. We've had a good run! And while it's undeniable that the ending of an era can be filled with bittersweetness, it's my belief that there's a time, a season for everything, and my season has ended, and it's time for a new one to begin. And while such ending can be bittersweet, I find comfort in the fact that my son will not get his crown at the cost of losing his parents. That his mother and I both can be here in the flesh to witness his moment of glory!"
[14:29] Ausar rubs his muzzle in wonder, thinking that his Xahuness' mom is very much alive.
[14:30] Felix Stourmead pulls her hubby into the seat
[14:33] Ascari continues to listen, as it's not yet his turn to speak! But he does scan the crowd for his brother, making eye contact a bit as he finds him for additional support while the proceedings are proceeding!
[14:34] Relina Harem would listen to the proceedings and actually begins to tear up a bit as she leans her head on her husband's shoulder
[14:35] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng would do the same, just that she also looks to her parents, who d smile back proudly at her. Qa'a Ramani!
[14:35] Sylvara Solace is actually only half here, her mind partially somewhere else. Part of the reason she hasn't been seen in public much lately. Stress and lack of sleep has her basically on autopilot.
[14:37] Ariel smiles and she reaches gently for Axton, holding onto one of his hands for a moment while her grandfather speaks.
[14:37] Xahu Fu Sheng says a bit more loudly, like he's reaching a conclusion to the speech, "This is how traditions get started. Someone does something that rings true, and it gets repeated again later on and again and again until it becomes the norm. I pray to Heavens that Fate will be kind to my son and his wife, so that they may have the wisdom to see when their time to rule is done, and pass on the duties of the empire to the next in line, without the weight of one's loss on top of it all, for the crown itself is plenty heavy as it is!", and he turns to Ascari & Daliyah & Ariel, and gestures with his paws for them to stand up.
[14:41] Ascari perks his ears and rises, and he looks around a bit again. Pushing down his anxiousness about the situation, he musters a look of firm determination, stepping toward his father until he's in front of him.
[14:42] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng rises from her chair, and while she can feel her heart beating fast, there is some strange serenity overcoming her. She d join Ascari at his side in front of Xahu.
[14:45] Ariel gingerly lets go of Axton's hand as she now has to rise, and so she does, and she awaits!
[14:47] Ausar leans forward and observes the exchange between the members of the royal family.
[14:47] Relina Harem mutters while she watches "My students.." quietly
[14:50] Xahu Fu Sheng takes off his crown of golden laurels, and he holds it high with both paws, turning again to the people in the room, "So it is with great joy, and clarity of mind, that I make it my last act as your emperor, to pass on to my son all of my duties and my powers as ruler of Lismore!", and he makes a little pause before turning to Ascari again...
[14:53] Sylvara Solace suddenly holds her hand up to her forehead, and looks like she's about to pass out. She then silently slips her way through the crowd, to duck her way back into the kitchen, where she came from. Seems she's going to be absent from the rest of this. (Gotta sim-hop. Was interesting while I lasted, laters!)
[14:59] Ascari looks at the crown as it comes off Xahu's head, and then he takes a deep breath, lowering his head some when his father turns back to him again.
[15:00] Daliyah Na'varr Fu Sheng would simply wait for now, not exactly sure how this was supposed to be done. She d give her mate a reassuring smile though when it seems that his father is passing on the crown.
[15:04] Xahu Fu Sheng steps closer to Ascari, holding the laurels over his son's head, and he says in a very solemn and clear tone, this is the important part, but with some warmth to it, it's a joyous occasion!, "I crown thee Ascari Fu Sheng, Emperor of Lismore and of its territories!", and he slow and gently puts the crown down on his son's head and once it's in place he lets go, then proceeds to at a solemn pace, not too fast, not too slow, go down on one knee before the new emperor.
[15:05] Ariel would also slowly kneel down once her father is crowned and proclaimed emperor!
[15:05] Solrin kneels down as Ascari is proclaimed emperor!
[15:06] Athian Hoggard calls out in a deep, booming voice: "Long live the emperor!"
[15:06] Mishra kneels too, though with a touch of casual about it, typical of the irreverent cat doctor.
[15:07] Senusnet, the fennec king of Kun Qalasi remains standing, but he bows his head to Ascari acknowledging the man's new titles.
[15:07] Relina Harem would cheer with glee as Ascari is crowned "Long live the emperor!" along with Athian
[15:08] Sapphire bows down to Ascari alongside her father.
[15:08] Djoser also kneels before the new emperor.
[15:09] Khaleem kneels down before Ascari as the prince is crowned emperor!
[15:09] Ausar cheers, offers a bow and joins the chorus: "Long live the emperor! Long live the empress! Long live the royal family! And may the spirits and powers that be bless Lismore!"
[15:14] Xahu Fu Sheng remains kneeling for a few moments, but eventually he rises, and steps off to the side to join Ewyllyn; Ascari's the boss now!
