Envy's Report (First Kingdom Plot)
« on: July 06, 2016, 09:52:34 am »
The following is a written report of Envy's infiltration of a First Kingdom Military Outpost.

I assimilated myself into a group of soldiers departing for an outpost on the fringe of the first kingdom. The purpose of this outpost seems to be to manage supplies and provide them to returning scouts and troops.

The outpost has a fairly strong military presence.

Upon arrival, a blue lyrekeht, referred to as "Lord Rime" by the outpost commander, arrived and made an unannounced inspection.

Lord Rime was seeking a report on status and operations in the camp, citing that a body called the 'council of castes' was looking forward to hearing success stories about the war. Lord Rime mentioned that Lismore and it's allies had shown to have earned their reputation, it sounds like they aren't preparing to underestimate us. I believe that Lord Rime may be one of the First Kingdom's Caste Leaders.

The commander noted that some of the warrior caste's best warriors are gathered. This location may being set up as a staging ground for something significant.

Lord Rime seemed a bit dubious of the claims that the warrior caste's best were gathered there, and so he called a soldier forward. The first kingdom's soldiers, even the commander, showed great fear and apprehension of Lord Rime, and the Lord himself seemed to be pretty cast-iron in his dealings with them. He ordered the man to hit him, and when he did not, Lord Rime displayed great magical power by throwing him from his feet and injuring him badly.

He called me forward next... He questioned me of my name and rank, I offered my assumed identity, Corporal Graves, an admittedly made-up person who serves the Blacktalon Mercenary Company, a mercenary group we know to be in realirty serving the first kingdom. Lord Rime, as this point, confirmed by suspicion that he was a caste leader, expressing that the leaders of the caste report directly to the king of the First Kingdom with no intermediaries.

Rime ordered me, as he had the last soldier, to strike him. Given the fate of the previous soldier, I struck Rime as instructed, and... Came to find by the camp's reaction that I may have been the first to follow that order. Once he stood back up, he reaffirmed that I did what he expected, and told others that they should follow that standard of obedience. Rime is a ruthless, iron-willed leader. If the other caste leaders are at all of the same stripe, then it is imperative that we don't underestimate our enemies.
