Guten Rutsch

Here in Germany we tend to say "einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!" which roughly translates to something along the lines of "may you skid/slide well into the new year" in anticipation of the turn of the year. The same greeting I'd like to extend to you now. As you can see by the picture, we already secured us some delicious port (Vintage from 1980) and are now relaxing with our friends, counting down the hours till midnight.

I hope the new year will find all of you well and will provide us again with countless hours of adventure, romance, mystery, thriller, horror, political intrigue, comedy and above all happiness to share the joy of playing our characters with each other. Thank you for 2014 and see you all in 2015!

Heh. Every part of the world has its own traditions for the new years. Some vary heavily from family to family even.

For my own family, there is a tradition that my grandmother carried over from Japan, which we continue to practice. And One I'd like to share with you all. On new years eve and new years day, eat something long. Noodles, or something else you consider long. For eating it will ensure you have a long life on this day when we move on to the next year.

And "einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr!" To you too Athian, and to you Arynkitty.

mMRr I could use a good bottle of vintage Dow's Porto, yes....   

Here the tradition is watch movies 'till midnight, munching on little cocktails and snacks and stuffs, and then when the New Year rolls around we wish eachother a happy new year, and carry on watching movies.

Back in Brazil the tradition was to celebrate it to the max, with fireworks, lots and lots of fireworks! And food! And drinks! And blackjack, and hookers! ....ok, maybe not those last two, at least not for my family, I'm sure someone does it, though!

So yes, a happy new year to everyone, and may it be a very good year for us all!
