Springfire Festival 2015
« on: May 01, 2015, 09:00:15 am »
Come one, come all, the Springfire Festival is upon us once more. All the people of Lismore and esteemed guests of the lands are invited to celebrate the new flame of life that springtime kindles in the nature all around us.

Come feast, drink, dance and play with your neighbors and friends. The life-fire is roaring in front of the academy again. The Springfire-Pole invites to a dance on the main square... remember, kissing and dancing under the pole brings good fortune to those who are about to tie the knot of marriage this year. And for those of you already in wedlock... is there a better way to renew those vows than to share that dance once more?

Hungry or thirsty? Look no further than to the Palace plaza. The royal family along with some of the nobles of the lands sponsored a lavish buffet. Here you will find authentic Lismorean Cuisine and some exotic treasures from places abroad. Wash them down with a good ale or glass of wine before you continue to be merry.

We remind all attendees of the Springfire Festival that the Rabbit Hole has special offers for the duration of these festive days. Aryn Gentlepaw looks forward to welcome you there - he will be playing 'Songs of the Fire' for his guests.

So what are you waiting for? Be seeing you on this year's Springfire Festival!

(OOC:  We are celebrating spring, life and fire. Everyone can take part, the event is going to last for about one week RL time. Feel free to use the various props for your RP while in the city. There are dance poses given by the pumpkins near the large fire at the academy and by the sand pit next to the buffet. Also you can dance around the Springfire Pole (usually it is best to mount the poseballs while they are not moving, so start and stop them by clicking the main pole as necessary). If you want to add to the festivities with small scenes like playing music for the crowd, showing off magic tricks or spectacular skills - you are quite welcome to do so. If you need help with an idea, feel free to contact members of staff. Enjoy!)
The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it.

Feedback regarding the Springfire Festival is welcome. Either here in this thread or by sending me a private message (or chatting me up on SL).

Let me know about the stuff you like as well as about the things that you dislike for some reason or another (and, if possible, give those reasons for a better understanding). Some props don't work for you? You think there is something missing that would enhance the experience? I am open for suggestions.

Also, should you come across items on the SL market that scream 'I would be perfect for Lismore festive events', you are welcome to point them out to me. I can guarantee that I will take a look - maybe some of them will make the list for a future event.
Three things to keep in mind: Objects low on prims/land impact are usually preferred over resource hogs. Props should have a fair price-performance ratio. And last, but not least: Decorative items that I will need numerous times, like the garlands for example, need to be items I can COPY. Yes, that means that I am willing to pay more for an individual well, designed garland that I can copy multiple times over the sim as needed, than buying a large number of the same garland at a lower price. ;)

In need of a buffet table or some decorations for your own RP-driven parties and celebrations in Lismore? I might be able to help. If you contact me well ahead of time I am sure we can work something out.
