Events / The Warrior's Heart Festival
« Last post by Ani on March 20, 2021, 11:36:37 am »
Word would quickly spread through the skylands that Isleen and Lelantos O'Lane Stonefall have begun the first Warrior's Heart Festival in Lismore. This festival will last for a period, and will take place between the city's arena, the crucible, and the tavern and the areas between.

The purpose of this festival is to enhance the kinship and skill of all warriors in the skylands, by competing against eachother in the city arena, and with eachother in the crucible against creatures of great might.

Events and competitions in the arena that are between Lismore's warriors will be held by Relina Harem. (DM Felix Stourmead if you're interested)

Events and competitions in the crucible between powerful creatures and opponents to be fought by groups of warriors will be held by Lelantos (DM Ani Aunerfal if you're interested)

Those who successfully win fights in either category will be offered a variety of prizes. All citizens are welcome to take part in the food and drink of the festival, and those who compete in either event may have their equipment serviced free of charge by Nina, Elliwood and their assistance for free at the smithy, courtesy of Isleen, who is overseeing the overall event.

At the end, Isleen and Lelantos will choose a single challenger each to fight them in single combat - any who may claim victory against them, or impress with their skill, will be given a very special prize.

In the meantime, please enjoy the festivities!

Lismore City / The life of Drucilla Shunkou
« Last post by Kian on February 24, 2021, 07:52:54 pm »
(From the desk of Raiden Shunkou, spoken by Raiden written by Yang Shunkou)

Though it has been sometime since her passing, I now feel I am able to write down about my late wife. The people of Lismore knew her far longer than I did, but even from the day we met, to the day we fell in love, and the day we said our goodbyes it felt like a lifetime for me. She was my light in the world of darkness I walk in and she often spoke of how could I love such an old woman like her... She already had two children grown up and in their places of power in Lismore... We thought it impossible but... Not only did we have two of our own, Yin and Yang, but we adopted a young skunk orphan named Zen. Our twins elder brother.

Dru was amazing, the most amazing woman I had ever met... She lived honorably, she thought of the people, and she was an amazing warrior. Never really won a spar against her, she always bested me when we trained. I saw her for the first time, briefly when we married thanks to a very, very special potion with short term effects... Not a day goes by that I don't miss her.. Hearing her voice, feeling her warmth when I wake... Reaching out for her hand as I walk around... She is gone but not forgotten. She is not just within my heart, or our children's hearts... She is within the hearts of Lismore's people... Our son Yang vows to continue her legacy, from what I am told he is the spitting image of Dru. She will be missed and remembered, she is loved and gave so much love. Drucilla Shunkou, Leader, Warrior, Mother, and Wife....

Kun Qalasi / The Monolith Incident
« Last post by Ashtyn on January 29, 2021, 05:09:15 pm »
((this is the official report on an incident in the desert just outside of the city of Kun Qalasi))

The blush ramau Tut-Amun set out to help move the giant carved monolith that an archeological expedition uncovered a while ago. The king ordered the monolith moved closer to the entrance to the road that leads up to the city. The rat Edward and the fennec Nebt-het, magical advisor to the king, followed along.

The blush ramau proceeded to write magical symbols on the sled upon which the monolith stood, as traditional work was already under way to re-locate it, at the cost of great physical effort and time. The ramau's intention was to expedite things and greatly reduce the number of people and effort needed to move the item. The blush ramau Khufu was brought in to assist with the project at this time.

However, the sled broke apart under the tremendous weight of the monolith (some 150-tons), and the tall spire of stone toppled over. Khufu was able to divert the trajectory of the monolith, saving himself and Tut-Amun and Edward from being crushed, but Nebt-het was unable to get out of the way fast enough, and was hit by the giant rock on its way down and partway crushed beneath it.

Tut-Amun was able to perform what he referred to as an "emergency soul transfer spell", with which he then bound Nebt-het's consciousness and spirit to a nearby rock.

By this time the commotion attracted the attention of the city guard and with the assistance of the lion Drysands, they were able to liberate Nebt-het's crushed body from underneath the fallen monolith.

The guards took the blush ramaus under custody until the situation could be explained to the relevant authorities. The now talking rock possessed by Nebt-het's soul was left with Tut-Amun, since the ramau was rambling madly about souls and curses and deities and the guards felt it better not to mess with that.

Kun Qalasi / Pigeon Towers
« Last post by Ashtyn on December 11, 2020, 11:10:38 pm »
The Egyptian neighbors have gifted Kun Qalasi with a few pigeons for breeding. King Senusnet has thus erected a couple of pigeon towers (dovecotes) on a rock just outside the city walls to house these pigeons and promote their proliferation!

Until second order, the existing pigeons flying around Kun Qalasi are to be left alone! They are to establish a viable population, therefore should not be hunted and their eggs can not be disturbed!

Anyone found guilty of catching a pigeon or their eggs will have an ear cut off as first offense, a hand as second offense, and death should it occur a third time!
