So after some random and bored researching, I came across two things that I figured I would share here, as well as to make a topic for where people can post random and fun facts that not everyone may know. These two facts I am posting mostly corresponds to the furry roleplay world and some, inaccuracies that are commonly used in roleplay without them (most likely) knowing that they are wrong.
- You know how some men have it said in their titlers that they have a musky scent coming from them right? What they do not realize is, that the musk scent primarily comes from a cervidae, the deer. So basically said, they smell like deers. :D Other animals that do have musk glands/musk odor are: Muskrats, musk ducks of southern Australia, the muskox, the musk shrew, the musk beetle, African civet , the musk turtle, the alligator of Central America, some crocodiles and snakes...not in CANINES or FELINES like many uneducated people are using it for in their titlers....unless well...they want to smell like deer of course.
- You know how rabbits/bunnies are commonly referred to as lapine? This is quite wrong, rabbits and hares actually belong to the Leporidae family and should be called, Leporids, lapine is the language used by talking rabbits in the book Watership Down written by Richard Adams.

Fun Fact: Male Canine and Feline 'musk' that they actually use to attract a mate, mark their territory, establish dominance, is their piss.

...yeah, the musky one is a bit off... "musk" used to be like Nova pointed out, a specific thing secreted by specific animals... and it was used as fixative for perfumes!
But the term 'musk' has become an universal scent description pretty much all animals can produce in some way or another... They are not the same chemical composition as 'true musk', but they do basically the same thing. Even people can get musky!! (heck I think even some plants have 'musk'!)

Fun fact? Birds can grow new brain cells and regenerate previously existing ones. Some birds use this to expand different regions of the brain during different seasons, such as for song or spatial memorization. This also makes birds capable of fully recovering from otherwise crippling neurological diseases, such as West Nile :3
