Title: IC News
Post by: Novaku on July 13, 2011, 03:41:48 pm
Just like we have the IC News group in SL for IC notices such as wanted posters and other things that would become widespread news in the RP, this IC News thread is here for conveniency, redundancy, and to keep a record of news that are posted in the group, since SL only keeps notices available for a few days.

This thread is not for discussion of anything. If you have IC news to post, do so in the Lismore Lands IC News group AND in this thread, please.

After an unexpected attack in the heart of the city, Doncoutle, one of Lismore's most powerful and longest-standing adversaries, has been destroyed. The artifact, known simply as 'essence', betrayed Lismore, destroying Doncoutle's soul and taking over his body. Lismore's valiant warriors stood fast, and though the price was paid in lives, neither Doncoutle or Essence will threaten Lismore, or anyone else again.

News from the rumor mill: Some of those working as servants in the palace talk in lowered voices about a recent incident. Obviously there has been some sort of disagreement between Emperor Xahu and his son, Prince Alynn. Sources say that both could be heard shouting for a while, before the prince was escorted to his chambers by a number of palace guards.

Citizens of the Empire,

Early warnings from the rangers of the High Garden forest tell that there may soon be another brutal winter storm approaching Lismore - citizens are advised to do whatever they can to prepare. Begin stocking stores with food that spoils slowly, plan for and purchase materials for window barricades, and try to establish a system of accountability for members of your household, to avoid people becoming lost as happened during the last storm.

The crown will be working to find solutions to help stranded or lost individuals find their way to shelters.

According to past storms, some advice: Stay with your family when signs of the storm start rising. The desert is not a dependable refuge, except for inside of the Iron Sands Fortress itself, as the Renegades desert will likely be affected by the storm, too.

The temple has space and limited protection against the ravages of the storm, but will not hold up well if it's overcrowded - please, if you have a family or home elsewhere, use it instead.

New Eden is not a safe refuge - it is prone to flooding during serious storms and it may be very difficult for New Eden enforcers  to allow refugees in once they've prepared their flood blockade. The area also remains as dangerous as it is on any other day.

Coordination for supply and storm preparations are happening largely between the city and temple - if you'd like to contribute coin or materials to the effort, feel free to donate at either location.

The Qalasians are offering some space for refugees from the storm - there is a limited number of available spaces, and those who would struggle to find shelter in Lismore MOST will be given priority to occupy these spaces.
