By order of His Majesty Emperor Ascari Fu Sheng, the sale, acquisition, gifting, transference, and otherwise trade of slaves in the Lismorean Empire is to cease immediately!
All Slaver Licenses are hereby rendered null.
Slaves that have been traded up to this date maintain their status as their owner's properties. From this date forth, no new slaves may be created (unless by royal command) or be transferred to a different owner.
Moreover, owners are not allowed to breed slaves in any situation which would put the offspring in a condition of slavery or harm upon their birth. Any offspring from already-pregnant slaves is to be regarded as a free citizen upon their birth and shall be raised as such.
Currently owned slaves remain in the ownership of their masters until the latter set the slaves free or they expire of natural causes. Should the owner of a slave expire, the slave can not be inherited by anyone else, they are to become free citizens of the empire, and as such may choose their fates.
Owners who find themselves incapable of maintaining their current slaves may turn them in to the Crown at no compensation. Owners found bringing harm to their slaves as a consequence of this edict will be severely punished.
Signed by His Royal Majesty Emperor Ascari Fu Sheng on the 324th Day of the 35th Year of the 4th Age
